Plug and Play Simulator FAQ

What is a plug and play racing simulator?

A plug and play (commonly known as turnkey) racing simulator is a complete, ready-to-use racing setup. It includes all the necessary hardware and software, with delivery, setup, and even training, allowing you to start racing immediately.

How long does it typically take to build a custom turnkey racing simulator?

Turnkey racing simulators generally take about 4-6 weeks. That can vary depending on the complexity of the design.

"Why would I choose a Turnkey Simulator instead of building it myself?"

If you want a properly setup racing simulator, you'd be lucky to get it 100% on the first try within 25 hours. Not to mention, along with proper setup (field of view, elbow position, knee position, monitor position, etc) doing wire management. A Plug and Play Simulator allows you to get on track without the hassle of building but to focus on racing.

What are the different types of motion platforms available?

We offer D-Box Motion, Vero Motion, and Qubic System (on request) Systems. They can be in 3DOF, 4DOF, 5DOF, and 6DOF depending on which system is used.

What is the typical cost of a custom turnkey racing simulator?

The range of simulators is pretty wide. $3,000-$60,000.

This wide price range is primarily influenced by several factors:

  • Components: The choice of peripherals, such as steering wheels, pedals, gear shifters, and motion platforms, directly impacts the overall cost. Higher-end components and advanced features will naturally increase the price.
  • Customization: The level of customization you desire can also affect the cost. More intricate designs and personalized features may require additional engineering and labor.
  • Manufacturer: Different manufacturers offer varying levels of quality and features. Their pricing structures may also differ.

Do you offer installation services?

We include full delivery and installation, as well as door to door shipping (discussed during sales process).

What is the recommended maintenance schedule for a racing simulator?

The simulators have very little need for maintenance, but there are some components that could require a bit of grease from time to time (like the pedals). Depending on the environment, they may need cleaning (canned air is your best friend).

Can I upgrade my racing simulator in the future?

We design all of our packages to be upgradeable in the future. Whether it be a beefier wheelbase, active pedals, or a motion system, we spec out your complete system to be modular and upgradeable.
